Save the Whales
JEJU Save the Whales Project

Jeju Project is WSO’s first environmental project in Jeju Island to develop resources for tourism associated with the movement to protect marine ecosystem.

Jeju Island is a treasure trove of pure and clean environment. Hallasan National Park, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, Geomunoreum Volcanic Cone lave tube system, etc. are listed as UNESCO World Natural Heritage Sites. Jeju, the world’s treasure island, will become a base camp for environmental protection movement of WeSaveOceans(WSO)

To raise awareness for the protection of marine ecosystem and the extinction of whales, and to urge participation in grassroots environmental movement, we plan to collaborate with several small business owners in Cha Gwi Do Island, which takes the shape of a whale to paint murals which carries the message “saving the whales, saves our planet.” For this, WSO has opened “Save the Whales Mural Contest.”

Jeju Project is WSO’s first project to protect the environment that uses murals, sculptures and other artworks that all send out the message to save the whales, and thus awakening tourists visiting Jeju Island with the importance of protecting the marine ecosystem and whales as well as urging them to participate in grassroots environmental movement.
